Film ini berkisah perihal situasi Bumi 1000 tahun sesudah berlangsungnya bencana dahsyat yang mengakibatkan nyaris seluruh manusia di bumi tewas serta cuma tersisa sebagian yang sukses lolos serta hidup. Serta orang-orang yang tetap hidup saat ini tinggal di sesuatu area yang bernama Nova Prime.

Saat Cypher Raige ( Will Smith ) yang seorang jenderal yang dapat menjumpai anaknya Kitai Raige ( Jaden Smith ), tiba-tiba pesawat yang mereka tumpangi terkena badai asteroid serta mengakibatkan rusaknya yang amat kronis serta bikin Cypher terluka.

Mereka lalu selanjutnya jatuh ke Bumi dengan situasi yang amat tidak sama dengan seribu tahun lalu. Kitai mesti melacak sesuatu area penyelamatan untuk membantu sang bapak yang tengah sekarat di kokpit. Kitai lalu mesti melacak pertolongan untuk membantu bapak serta dirinya sendiri.

Di bumi yang baru itu, mereka mesti menghadapi medan baru yang belum terpetakan, serta ancaman dari spesies hewan evolusi yang mendominasi planet ini serta juga makhluk – makhluk aneh yang belum dulu mereka tengok pada mulanya.

Sisa-sisa manusia yang selamat membangun tembok yang sangat tinggi untuk melindungi mereka dari raksasa-raksasa

Lebih dari 100 tahun sejak kota itu berdiri. Remaja laki-laki Eren dan adik perempuannya Mikasa menyaksikan kejadian menakutkan dimana seorang raksasa super muncul dan menghancurkan kota. Raksasa lainpun turut muncul dan membanjiri kota, mereka berdua menyaksikan pemandangan mengerikan dimana ibunya dimakan hidup-hidup. Eren kemudian bersumpah akan membunuh semua raksasa demi umat manusia.

Tapi akhirnya eren mengetahui kalau dirinya sebenarnya juga titan setelah ia ditelan oleh titan yang menyerang dididing perlawanan manusia pertama. Setelah ia mengetahui dirinya bisa menjadi titan apabila tangannya mengeluarkan darah ia di jauhi dari grup pemburu titan. Ia berubah menjadi titan karena dia menjadi objek percobaan pamannya waktu ia kecil bersama mika kisah ini pun akhirnya semakin rumit setalah eren mengetahui kalau didalam dinding kota ada titannya dan beberapa pasukan juga bisa tapi mereka menyembuyikan jati diri mereka kalau mereka sebenarrnya juga bisa menjadi titan.
